When I Import an MP4 file to After Effects it turns into an MP3

Question

Not really sure whats going on but I have several different mp4 files on my computer all downloaded through the same method but a select few of the files I downloeded more recently, turn into mp3's when I put them into the compisition.

This used to only happen with 1/8 of my files but now every new file I download and import into After Effects turns into an MP3 and I'm not sure what to do. The MP4's play fine on any media player app I have but the second I place them into the timeline the video dissapears but the audio remains. Please help.

The selected file in the Project Panel is an MP4, but it looks like the video is missing. It didn't turn into an MP3. The compression codec used in the MP4 is incompatible with your OS or After Effects. The MP4 container can use multiple compression systems. You might try transcoding the problem files to another compression format using another software solution.
