Where did all the fonts go?

I am just starting to use After Effects 2021 and I am attempting to make some 3D text.  I have several fonts that I use for my projects in inDesighn, Photoshop, Illistrator ect.  But when I search the fonts in After Effects they are not avalible.  I have also gone to the "add fonts from Adobe Cloud" option activated the font from there, and it is still not availble.  What do I need to do to be able to use these fonts?

Yes, that's indeed how it should work. Have you tried that cache & sync thing I talked about?

Without knowing what fonts you are referring to and proper system info nobody can tell you much. A lot of older fonts are on internal blacklists and will be hidden, some fonts simply cause conflicts because Adobe wants to push their TypeKit versions on you. That and of course there can be any number of mundane technical issues like access to the font cache and Adobe font folders. As a start try to clean out all caches and let the fonts re-sync from the CC app.

All of the fonts I am trying to use are from the Adobe type kit. I was
under the impression that if the font is in the Adobe font library it could
be used on all of the programs in the Adobe suite

Fonts should work normally like other adobe application you don't need to do anything, try to restart your PC and check again, and for adobe cloud click the filter button and check if you can see that fonts
