First, you have to vet your trainers. There are many folks posting tutorials that do not really know what they are doing. You can easily end up learning inefficient techniques and developing bad habits. Some of the tutorials are really awful. Vetting your trainer means you have to make sure that they know what they are talking about.
If you want personalized instruction that can be very expensive, unless you are willing to be taught by another amateur that may or may not know what they are doing. Video production is a very complex process and there are standards for compressing and delivering content that must be understood and followed.
If you have a few bucks to spend I would seriously invest in a Lynda.com membership for a couple of months. There are hundreds of really good tutorials on their site and all of the trainers know what they are talking about. You can probably find techniques for doing exactly what you want to do, but it will take more than one tutorial to do really complex stuff.
If you want someplace where you can put in a request for a tutorial on how to insert an animated robot into some video of a birthday party you shot with an iPhone and then make the kids disappear and the cake catch on fire you are not going to find that. You can find tutorials from good trainers that show you how to insert a 3D CGI element into a video. You can also find tutorials on making folks disappear and other tutorials on making things catch on fire or explode.
