White box appears over my illustrator layer

Question

Help!! I edited an Illustrator file linked in my animation to add a new element and now ae has apparently duplicated a layer. The original illustrator file doesn’t have a layer there so it seems to be a bug from ae. Is it fixable?

Not a preview error because I keep seeing it after rendering.
I am using the newest versions of both programs too

Hi there,Thanks for reaching out. After Effects doesn't handle the additions in the Ai file well. Removing or modifying the objects is fine. Try reimporting the Ai file.Let me know how it goes.Thanks,Nishu
