Question

White overly in image, Gamma getting boosted after importing vectors from Illustrator

Hello!

So I am making stickers for telegram so I traced a layered photoshop file in Illustrator, layer by layer.

But when I import the Illistrator file into After Effects it seems like the gamma of the image changes, everylayer gets a whiteish overlay over it. I made sure that the Illustrator file is using RGB the "Convert to RGB" button doesn't seem to work but I guess it's becasue it's already in RGB.

I also checked the color export profiles in Illustrator they seem to be fine and they are in RGB as well.

The weird thing is it doesn't effect every vectorfile the same, the color shifts for every vector file but sum less some more. I really don't get it why...

If I export the vectors into EPS without CYMK stored in the header it also works well but EPS does not retain layers so I still cannot use it despite keeping the colors. Is there any way to solve this? I tried exporting the ai file as older version compatible ones, it still didn't work.

You will have to dig through your Illustrator file and check every layer. If you can share the AI file I would be happy to take a look. Without details and screenshots showing all of the properties of at least one of the problem layers, it is impossible to say what is going on.
