Question

White text blur renders as black text blur

First time using After Effects. I added a blur effect to my animated text. In AE, I see it as desired with the correct amount of blur. When I render it out, it doesn't look the same. On top a black bacground, it looks like there is basically no blur, and on top a lighter background, it is a black blur.

Anyone know what render settings I may have done wrong?

Render settings: "Best settings" and "Current settings" do this

Output module: QuickTime w/ RGB+Alpha and AVI all do this. This works with H.264, but I need the alpha channel since I want to overlay this.

In AE:

Rendered on top black background:

Rendered on top purple background:

Try rendering with Straight Alpha instead of Premultiplied. Make sure the comp background is Black.
