Without even a bit of info about your project, render settings, your system and so on we can't even begin to guess. If it always fails at the same position, then something specific is going on there, but you have not offered anything that would allow to diagnose the issue.

Hi there,

Thank you for your email, it is really appreciated.

We have installed after effects on to a brand new M1 MacBook Air only a
week ago. It is my daughter who is using the program and she has shown me
that it freezes at exactly the same point every time she attempts to render
something. She then has to force quit the program in order to try again.

What other information do you need from us that would be useful for you?

Many thanks,

Brendan

Have you tried replacing the clip right where the render stops? at least to test and check if the clip maybe corrupted.

Hi there Bryan,

Thank you for your email.

I’ve checked with my daughter (as it’s her program that we are having
issues with) and she has already tried replacing the clip you have
mentioned. It’s very worrying as this is a brand new program that we have
only recently signed up for on a monthly basis.

After effects has been installed on to a brand new M1 MacBook Air. Is it
possible that they are not compatible?

Any help or advice you have with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Brendan
