Question

why does this Pillsbury font look slightly fatter/wider in After effects vs Photoshop. Client approved storyboard created in photoshop, but now when going to build it in AE, using exact same variables, the font looks different. any thoughts?

    Hi @MartinMulcahy:

My first guess would be that there’s a different value set for “Horizontally Scale” in the Character panels.

Is this being recreated manually?  If so, you could import a layered PSD file that contains the “tasty’ Text Layer as a Composition and then with that Layer selected in After Effects choose Layer > Create > Covert to Editable Text.  This should match (fingers crossed).  Another option that should match is to double-click the “tasty” Text Layer in Photoshop to actively select all of the text and then copy and paste that to an empty test layer in After Effects.  The Character settings and the Paragraph settings should be maintained (again, fingers crossed).
