Question

Why is my composition rendered with an offset? (see images)

And why do shapes that exit on the right appear on the left side of the rendering?

1st image is comp in AE, 2nd is render. I expect to render the dark blue area, instead I get this.

Just to eliminate the obvous, are you previewing at 100%, or at least full width?  It's easy to zoom in.

Are you rendering out from AE's render queue or sending to Media Encoder?  Does the problem persist if you swap to the other method?

Have you tried setting both the project settings and renderer to Software Only?

Have you tried rendering out image sequences instead of video?

Hopefully, one of the above will identify the issue, but just in case the simplest way to mask an entire comp is to nest the comp in another one, so it is treated like a layer, then you can apply the mask.  Actually, just nesting it might show up if there's something in your comp causing the render issue.

I could not figure it out, but I used another machine with the same composition and it worked. Sorry for the late reply.

Are you exporting it using Media Encoder, or is Dynamic Link involved in the processes? Please make sure you are running the same version of After Effects and Media Encoder/Premiere Pro. There was an issue in 23.4/23.5/23.6 that caused a break between different versions of the apps.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Nishu

Update your graphics driver and check your hardware acceleration settings.

My graphics drivers are up to date and I also tried rendering with a software only rendering, still no change. For some reason the shapes that exit the composition on the right appear to the left. Is there an option to contain rendering to the composition? Or to add a mask to my entire project?
