Heads up for After Effects 23 or 24 on Windows:

Microsoft's OpenCL and OpenGL Compatibility Pack v. 2311.1 can cause AE to crash on startup with 3rd-party plugins such as those from Boris FX and Maxon/Red Giant. To fix this, open the Microsoft Store app and upgrade to v. 2311.2 or later.
