Wrong handling files with similar names

When I tried to work in latest AE (beta) on relatively large and complex project, it starts at some time do strange things.. I had imported 8 pngs with the same part of name, just different number, and from one point it every second one was replaced by duplicates of the first with no user activity. I had still 9 pics, but four of them was duplicated.
On the attached picture is list originally imported pictures, everything worked for few hours, but from some time it was changed by after effects by files with those names

original pictures in source folder are still the same.. It was just replaced somehow in project after first render, which was correct. Then I made second render and I got duplicated pictures instead originals..


It was second time I experienced this misshandle of files with similar names. I can try to send you project version before and after this change..

Hi vobrazovka,

 

Has the name of the images changed, or is it just the preview? Is the location where the images are stored synced with the cloud? If so, can you import them from a different location that's not synced? Also, please try clearing the media cache by going to Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.

No and no. Files are still the same in the same folder, did not changed and are stored next to the project.  It changes just in project panel - every second file was replaced by the file with name of previous one. So after this there were 4 duplicated instead of 8 originals.. One render was fine, then I decided to move camera slightly faster (and it was only one change i made) and in second render it was messed up.  Cache is not related in any way to this. It changed four files by itself in project panel. Just some miss in inner database I think, as those files have similar names, just with different number at the end of filename.
Never had this issue before I moved with this quite complex project to beta..
pngs are made by script "matte tool" as snapshot current composition (same function as render single frame, but this made render, save it next to project to selected directory, then reload it and replace original composition by this render. So, something like proxy (which made me mad too when I tried these (static proxies) to use in this project - it stuck in unstopable reloading at some point after few days of using them and make the project unusable so I needed to use autosave for ressurection. But that is different story, different bug report I will make later).
So, pngs I am talking about are still the same, not touched, at local directory next to the project, when I open previous version with non beta AE, it is working so far..  Only the latest version of project was affected and it happened in one of latest AE beta
