AE beta copy paste bug

I can't seem to copy and paste things into after effects like text etc.  I can do the opposite copy from AE into another program but not vise versa. it's a really strange issue.

Hi @duanel87903666 and @ViniciusA_Silva,

The cause of this issue has been found and workaround has posted for the time being until a fix is made. In a nutshell:

quote

If you launch AE by double clicking on an AE Project, or by right clicking on the Project file and open it with AE, pasting from the clipboard will be disabled.

 

For now, the workaround is stimply to launch AE FIRST and then proceed to open whichever AE project you want to work with. Paste will then work correctly.

Hi @duanel87903666,

Is this similar to what is being reported in https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta/can-t-copy-paste-text-from-other-apps-into-after-effects/td-p/12071186? Please take a look at my post there. We haven't been able to reproduce this issue yet in order to diagnose what might be occurring.

Yes, it seems they are having the same issue but with different versions.
I'm runing the beta on my m1 mac (the one made for the m1 chip) so just
bringing this up while it's still in beta so it can be fixed.
Also noticed today I can't change my playback quality, when clicked it does
nothing or pops up the options then quickly goes away. Just FYI 🙂 I can
change it fine in the cmd+k menu but not here. weird.
