i have this problem where my rotobrush wont work

when i try to paint strokes with rotobrush it doesnt work, it just leaves a purple outline around the video and says "after effects warning: roto brush strokes cannot be added until the current frame has finished rendering

nevermind its because i had the whole thing selected i just needed to remove the selected stuff (hold alt to remove selected)
