Layer Masks Aren't Working or Are Switched Off Somehow

I can create a shape layer and trackmatte to get a mask, but this is not optimal, of course. There's no feather. But if I create a new mask within a layer or create a shape layer with a layer selected, the mask appears in the layer panel, but it's as if the maks is set to none. The mask isn't working.

Anyone experiencing this? Or does anyone know how to fix this?

Another Update!

I did two things. A new update was available, so I updated. Prior to updating, I set the maks to "none" and saved my project, hoping a reload would fix the issue when I set the mask back to add. I then updated After Effects Beta.

One or the other seemed to have fixed the mask.

If it break again, I'll let you know.

Strange Issue Update for After Effects Beta

I dragged in a new clip and added a mask layer. The mask was working. While adding points to the mask, I accidentally missed the line and created a new mask. I quickly pressed Crtl + Z to undo, and my mask suddenly stopped working. Now, it's broken again.

So, there is an issue.
