Question

No display output in beta version 22.0.1 (build 54/56)

I'm running AE Beta on M1 Max on an external monitor but the issues appear on the Macbook display.

I was working on a project earlier today with no issues, and then updated to build 54. That's when I no longer could see anything being previewed. It's just gray or flashing black. I saw that there was another update (build 56) and I updated, still having issues. I restarted my computer, reverted back and forth with the build versions but nothing works. The non-beta version still works with no issues.

Thanks for reporting this charlieb30783975 & peterh47267367.

Moving this post to the After Effects Beta community.

Thanks,

I am experiencing the same issue. Previous build worked but 2.2.1.1 (build 56) will not display anything unless I uncheck "Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels".

Okay another edit: I saw another post from 2020 adressing a whole other issue but the solution worked for this too.

I disabled "Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels" in Display preferences.

EDIT: ...on an external monitor but the issues appear on the Macbook display AS WELL.
