OpenType Variable Font Support

Am I missing something in the settings to enable OpenType font support? I remember seeing IN DEVELOPMENT tag a couple of weeks ago, and assumed it was implemented already, since that tag is not there anymore.

 

I'm really looking forward to for this feature. Just love to use different alternate styles, and it adds value to my work.

I realized this was not the same feature that I was hoping for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but still good to have.
