Swapping Layers with effects doesn't show effect

I build templates. I normally replace logos in a closing animation with a logo and contact info. The logo has a bevel alpha and dropped shadow. I just downloaded the newest AE Beta (25.4.0 Build 13) and when I swapped one logo for another, even though the effects were applied to the layer, neither were visible.

Workaround:

I added a new (additional) dropped shadow and suddenly the previous two effects "woke up." I deleted the newly added dropped shadow and the effects originally there, remained as expected.
