Hi,Adobe asked for some CPU feedback about AIR Beta 18.0.0.142, so I'm posting them here.I've done several tests between .96 and .142 and I've been seeing significantly lower CPU usage. Tests have been done on both desktop and mobile on Scout, trying to be as apples to apples as possible (it's a multiplayer game).Here's results of 3 tests:CPU % on 18.0.0.96CPU % on 18.0.0.142CPU % Lowered45%37%8%38%34%4%36%29%7%My project is 100% Starling and it has a lot of CPU usage coming from various frameworks, biggest of which is the Spine animation framework.Also, across all tests, Starling.advanceTime CPU load has been reduced more than Starling.render. That's probably all the game logic benefiting from the new SDK.Hope any of these findings help. I'm certainly sticking to this SDK. Thanks Adobe!

So I've been working in Flash Builder, building AIR based ios and android apps for a few years now and have some success under my belt and some happy clients.   A couple of them are doing some long term planning and in our discussions I'm undoubtedly going to be asked to weigh in on our development platform(s), what I think we need to look to for future version development, changes etc. etc.I'm worried about relying on AIR (I use flash builder 4.6 with the latest SDK, etc. and just LOVE the workflow and AS3 in general) and finding myself stuck with yesterdays technology that has been abandoned.  I came across the whitepaper by Adobe on the future after Flex was transitioned to Apache Flex, and it seemed to indicate around 5 years of future support / functionality for AIR developers using flex / flash builder... or did I not understand that correctly?My primary question is whats NEXT for someone like myself, tasked with making development platform decisions for a few clie

I have been building my games using FlashDevelop with Flex SDK compiler all the time, but now I need ASC 2.0 with adobe air. So I have migrated to it. But one problem came out, which I just can't find a solution for. I need to embed TTF fonts, which I used to always add additional compiler option -managers=flash.fonts.AFEFontManager for. In this new AIR SDK all I get is the next warning: command line Warning: 'compiler.fonts.managers' is not fully supported. And of course fonts do not embed. I am currently uploading new build but that shows below error."Missing required icon file. This seems to be the place for speculative (crazy) ideas for future Flash-Runtime (AIR) features.  So, I'd like to add my $0.02.1. The performance to AS3 execution has always been a limitation.  It is my understanding that one factor that's slowing things down pertains to the way in which numbers and arithmetic are handled.  AS3 is based on the ECMAScript with IEEE Standard 64 bit Floating Point values.  This means that every floating point (Number) operation needs to be emulated bit-exact according to this standard.  For some reason, int and uint operations are even slower that Numbers - presumably because this is also doing a bit fiddling to ensure everything is standard across platforms.The trade-off for emulating all AS3 arithmetic, and consistency across platforms is performance.One solution is to introduce native types into AS3 - but I have a simpler proposal.  A compiler option to use native arithmetic.I assume that whenever we do an arithmetic oper

I wasted a lot of time trying to rebuild an ANE after format my Mac and install the most updated version of my tools.The problem was that ANE for Android requires specific Java 6 and only Java 7 and 8 (the most recent version) are available for Mac.Ultimate I was able to download a version of JDK 6 from Apple web site however this is not the desire solution.Btw I'm using Flex 4.14.1 + AIR 17.Please update AIR to support Java 8 !

A combination of autocompletion and displayAsPassword textfields is completely broken but behaves very differently on different devices. Been trying to get AIR updated from version 3.1.0.4880, it may be one of the issues preventing me from playing Mass Effect 2; so I attempted to download the newest version (Currently 18.0.0.180).However, when installed normally, or 'silently' through command prompt, it fails and says I may need to contact an administrator. Hi all,I'm working at a web/desktop/mobile videocollaboration-based application and I started few days ago to port the first part of the work built for win/mac desktops also on android to start testing it. Everything seems to work fine except for the fact in subject: in the mobile device, when I switch from my app to another I can hear sounds from my app (which is not more in foreground) but I can't hear the audio coming from the netstreams that the app has subscribed - which have been muted. At the same time the app continue to send normally the audio captured from the microphone over its published netstreams (-> netstreams are connected and working. btw I receive stopTransmit callbacks).is it a "normal" behaviour? naa..I think it is normal to have the need to switch apps while doing videoconference, may be e.g. just to have a look at the email while speaking in conference.I suppose there is something wrong somewhere. I have an error which is the below from Adobe AIR 18.0.0.96 and 18.0.0.109 on android and ios.But same project works fine with AIR 17.0.0.144 on android and ios.Unfortunately i can not send you any reproducible sample file because i encountered this error from a big project and i don't know how can i reproduce the issue.I hope you can understand the problem from the error screenshot.thanks.

This problem occurs in android 5.0.2 and AIR 17, textfiled can't show some chinese font.Does anyone have the same problem?

incipit: back to work on Flash/AIR a couple of months ago after years, since 2011 - a lot of time. I'm a flash adept on client-side so, later this lot of time I was on papers, today I was sure to find a deeply tested and so well working live videoconferencing subsystem embedded in Flash/AIR with the new "winning" RTMFP+H264+P2P software capabilities of the more recent releases of the flash runtime.. but today, by my new recent point of view, later a month of tests, I found in real life it works more or less like Sorenson video subsystem (2004) if not worse -> in stream lightness. today it is 2015, everything should be already tested in deep. so, what's wrong? is it my implementation to introduce stream lag? :-]guys, does anybody has seen 1 RTMFP+H264+P2P really well working app in the web? with 'working' I mean that videocommunications works like .. yes.. like skype, which is the king in videocommunication: perfect audio, fullsize video - which is not really required but works so go

I am running Windows 7 and use Adobe AIR for Flixster.  When I tried to open Flixster I recieved an error message saying i needed to install Adobe AIR.  I looked and saw that according to control panel, Adobe AIR is installed.  I attempted to uninstall but get this EXACT message:"This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.  Please download the latest version of the runtime from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair, or contact the application author for an updated version."I have tried going to the mentioned website but i get an error message saying installation failed and may need administrative privilages but I AM the administrator!  I then tried multiple solutions on the forums including the command prompt uninstall and still no luck.  contacted customer support who told me i can only receive assistance through these forums. Very frustrating.  Please Help.

Touch (same as Mouse) events have too high latency at Android. Most unusable for intensive gaming that depends from Touch speed. Games where you must fast tap on display.Really. Adobe AIR mostly unusable for high intensive gaming that directly depends from touch latency. Native application don't have such problems. For some games types community want switch to another platform because AIR is great but have high touch latency in Android.iOS works as expected. HiWe are currently testing our applications on Windows 10 preview builds. We discovered a problem with Windows desktop applications when it comes to touch.When executing a certain order of touches (see below), touch points get stuck in the ‘touch move’ state. The most likely reason is that the ‘touch up’ events are not registered. But it might as well be an issue in the IDs of the touch points.To create the issue, the following actions are performed:Touch with finger 1. Keep this finger on the screen. Touch with a number of other fingers. Keep these on the screen. Release finger 1. Touch again with finger 1. The system requirements for Adobe Air are MAC OS X v10.6, 10.7, 10.8,10.9.  I have MAC OS X v10.10.3 and am having trouble loading LongTail Pro application.  Any suggestions?

Hello;I'm trying to display a Youtube video within an AIR Android app.Usually, I call the Youtube API player like this (barebones only):loader.load(new URLRequest("http://www.youtube.com/apiplayer?version=3"));player = loader.content;player.loadVideoById("12345678901",0);I don't know why, but this method doesn't work anymore.Here's what happens on the ANDROID device (I compiled using AIR v18):The video seems to be buffering for a few seconds, then the movieClip holding the API player becomes transparent, no video is displayed.The sound of the video is playing though.Meanwhile, on the ADL, the video shows up as it should.I'm using Android 5, the Youtube Video is on public status, and I already re-tried after uninstalling the Android app (but does it clear the cache?).Does anybody has a clue on what's going on?Thanks a lot!
