Hello.I'm new in this topic. At this moment our company have a business tabblet application that is wirtten in C# and works on a windows device (Panasonic touchbook).Now we are looking to renew the devices and also the software.Our goal is develop software that can works on Android, iOS & Windows.The application must work with data on a local database and sync ever hour with a server.The is also communication with a WCF service for some actions.Is Abobe AIR a good product for developing big business applications or is it more for developing games ?What is the difference with Phonegap. Is Adobe AIR also making a website and compile it to an app like phonegap ?We want that the users not have the feeling working on a website but have the look and feel of a native app on Android, iOS, WindowsThanks for your advice to help making our choiceNico

Hi,Does anybody find out yet if it's possible to use the new iOS 8 features such as the "System Share Menu" (Share | Xamarin) integration with an Adobe Air build app?I couldn't find ANY information on this topic in the AIR docs.Would love to get an app listed in the share menu though! I am developing a simple Air app for an android tablet (Kitkat) that will be used in a visitor centre in a 'kiosk' mode. I would like to completely prevent users from exiting the app by using the back, home or menu buttons. While I know that the back and menu buttons can be intercepted in Air, the Home button cannot. Does anyone know of a way (perhaps another app / background service, native extension), that will prevent my app from being exited? I've looked at the screen pinning option on Android Lollipop, but I don't think it's a viable and elegant solution.

Hi all,I am a developer for a desktop application to be installed in windows and mac. The air file is signed and migrated to new certificated as detailed here (Adobe AIR 1.5 * Signing an AIR file to change the application certificate). But while launching the installer in windows, the installer fails with the message "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author." I have tried doing the following- checked my date/time- uninstalled/reinstalled the application- removed the installtion folder  etc.But still the issue persists. Before failing, it also shows a dialogue that the "publisher identity is verified" - so I believe this issue is not related with codesigning/certificates, please correct me if I'm wrong.Please let me know how to resolve this issue.Thanks,VivekS

Hey guys, i was having problems with the uploading an app to the Apple appstore because of the new rule for 64bit apps so i had to recompile all the anes and whatnot.After having all the anes 64bit compatible, when i go to "Export release build" i get this error "WARNING: GL pipe is running in software mode (Renderer ID=0x1020400)"Only for the iOS version. Hi,I have an app where I use the native gallery function of the device to import photos. It worked fine until recently when I updated to AIR 16 and updated my devices to iOS 8. Now when I open the gallery on an iPad, it won't let me use it. It just cancels it no matter where I tap. I have tried the same app (with AIR 16) in iOS 7 and it works fine. Hi,The latest AIR SDK 17 is not working with Flash CS6.I tried to publish and install an iOS app to my connected device via USB but I always get an error "Check if iTunes is installed".The latest stable AIR SDK 16 is working fine, and yes, iTunes is installed on my PC.DETAILS:- Flash CS6- AIR SDK 17- System: Windows 8,1- iPodTouch with iOS 8.1REPRODUCE:Open new AIR iOS template and publish/install it to a USB connected iOS 8.1 device.Anyone else got that error?

After a great deal of effort implementing stageVideo, I noticed a big problem on some Apple computers. Hi,apple has changed the upload strategy for binaries. Now there is the need to specify a build number if you have to upload your version of your app multiple times, for testing or any purpose. Is there any chance to apply the build number of the app in the app-meta-descriptor? As I see, the version number is written twice in the Info.plist file per default.       <key>CFBundleVersion</key>        <string>1.0.1</string>        <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>        <string>1.0.1</string>IMO the BundleVersion is normally the build number in Apple-Language.

I have a particularly puzzling problem.AdobeAIR has never allowed me to update it. Ever. I have received countless notifications over the years, but everytime I clicked update, I received an error message. The version I have is 3.7.0.2090. I have attempted updating it to 16.0.0.273 all day. I continually receive this message:"An error occurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."I have downloaded the latest version and selected "run as administrator". That didn't work. I tried creating a new administrator account on my pc and then selected "run as administrator" using that account. All to no avail.I figured I might uninstall the version I have, so opened control panel (I'm running Windows 7, btw) and looked for the application in the Programmes list to uninstall it. However, the app was not listed. Anywhere.I then found, in these forums, someone had a problem with updating and/or uninstalling and attempte

I'm experiencing some very strange behaviour from my app regarding CPU usage on an iPad1. I noticed this whilst testing the app using XCode Instruments - Activity monotor.I decided to create an empty app, nothing in it, no listeners, no display list and publish it.When installed and launched on the iPad1 it was using a strady 2.5% cpu.After I tap on the screen a few times I see the cpu usage rise, but not decrease. I'm currently looking at a 30% - 40% constant cpu usage for an empty app. It seems as though the app is not letting go of it's cpu resources, even though it obviously doesn't need it.Does anyone have an idea why this is happening and what can be done to prevent it?Thanks.Details:Flash Pro CS5.5AIR 3.2iPad1 running iOS 5.1.1App published with CPU render mode.I also published the same empty app using GPU render mode and got a similar result.

Hi all,Just looking at one of my generated IPA files (rename to .zip and browse) -The swf used to create the ipa is around 10MB, but the final ipa size is around 19MB.  Does this sound about right?I notice that the ipa Payload folder contains (the two biggest files):Academy (20MB compressed to 8MB, no extn - note 'Academy' is the name of the project)fs_academy.swf (10MB compressed to 9MB - the swf file for the project)Question: Are those two files required, or is the swf already part of that other file and it is included again for no reason?Cheers,Peter

I published x86 supported android app to google play with android licensing ane of adobe without x86 ANE support.  And some users complained the app did not launched. Probably cause of  the problem is licensing ane. Now where can i find x86 supported version of licensing ANE?thanks.

I've got something really quirky going on. Much of the time, when I use an alert, the screen remains blurred after the Alert has been dismissed. Has anyone run into this?I had assumed that I could only close a TitleWindow after all the code I want executed was complete or the destruction of the popup would interfere. Testing doesn't seem to support that. So will something like this work without interfering with subsequent code? Will the event dispatch still take place regardless of timing issues?
