Exporting Animations from Flash to Unity

Hi,

We are extensively using adobe animate cc for creating assets and their animations(Characters, effects, props, etc) for a 2d game that we are planning to develop in unity.

However, we are unable to export animations from flash to unity as per our requirements.

Are there any methods or plugins that would help us with exporting animations from flash to unity?

(Just for additional Details if it helps) - We need a character to be exported to unity from animate cc with each body part(hands, face, etc) separate so that we can add colliders in unity which will move along with the animated body part.

Any help will be grateful,

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi.

Have you tried the texture atlas feature?

Export animations for mobile apps and game engines

Please let us know if this is what you want.

The best I've found is this Unity sprite importer, and it's free. It's true, it's for sprite sheets, but it works fine. You have video tutorial, and you will see that it is simple.

Also, you can try the Flash Animation Toolset asset for this. It allows convert and play animations in Unity.

Where is this plug-in located now? The link in the Adobe tutorial above to the unity plug in on Adobe downloads is DEAD.

We are using GAF plug in and it it working nicely with Unity. Check it out: https://gafmedia.com/

Sadly GAF plug in is dead... no update since some years, no way to contact them and the plugin can't convert .swf files anymore in 2018+ version of Unity. (I waste 100 USD for the pro version that work with animator)

Adobe solution is very limited and won't work for me.

Workflow for animated 2D character in any game engine seem to be a nightmare

    Hi JoãoCésar,

    Thanks for your reply.

We have tried that plugin but there is very limited access to it after importing to unity.

After importing in unity, the script only plays the animation in runtime which is limiting our scope to access the script and the animation in unity editor.

Also it breaks the animation for each part of the character separately. For example: hand has a separate animation component while body has a separate animation component. While we need a single animation component on the whole character object.

Is there any more documentation or tutorial to the above process that you have mentioned that we can refer to?

    Thank you.

    I'm sorry about these issues/limitations.

Unfortunately I don't have much else to suggest other than manual preparation because I don't have experience with Unity.

Hopefully someone else here can give you a better answer.

    Regards,
