Question

Is it possible to modify Z of a symbol (eg : hand) ?

Hi !

I'm new to Animate - I used to work with Toon Boom, and I don't know if it's possible to modify the Z (depth) of a symbol to put over or under an other symbol when animating my puppet (e.g hand closer to camera, so over the arm in perspective).

There's an easy option in Toon Boom, but I only see the Y and X in Animate.

That would be really helpful, thank you in advance !

with an as3 (but not canvas) project you can use the transform panel.

You may be able to use Layer Depth if you are animating on the Main Timeline, but animating on the Main Timeline is not considered to be a good practice, and Layer Depth is a poor, flawed and incomplete implementation, using the so-called Advanced Layers. Better stay away from that.

Typically, you would just re-layer the element.
