Rig a vector character in Animate

Hi !

I'm a beginner with Animate and there's something I don't understand : I created a character in Illustrator and I would like to import my .ai file in Animate to rig it. However, when I select the asset warp tool, Animate don't let me rig my character when I hover it in my scene.

I noticed it works when I import my .ai as a bitmap image, but it just doesn't seem right to me to not be able to rig a vector file. Can you give me some advice ?

Thank you for your help !

The Asset Warp tool works with vectors also. If you want to prevent Animate from auto-converting your vector art to bitmaps, go to Preferences > Drawing and uncheck that box!
Do you have each body part on it's own layer after importing your AI file? Make sure you select the asset(s) you want "rigged" individually before applying an Asset Warp pin.
