Rig angular and constant width ?

Hello,
I'm slowly getting back into Animate and having a problem with the inverse kinematics. I'm trying to make a simple arm that bends, but I want to both keep the angled side (no rounding) at the bend (elbow) and keep the thickness constant along this "arm". I attach an image showing the rig (very simple), the animated result and the difference between what I have and what I want. At the level of the elbow I don't want the thickness to decrease... Is it possible? How ?
Thanks
ps: I don't want a solution with masks that I have to move every frame, etc. which would make me lose more time while I go through a rigg to save time precisely…

You wanted to know the bone tools better and you were slowly getting back into the bone tools. This shows how to use them. If this does work for you try this tutorial. https://youtu.be/f3DPKBBCnsA

also have you ever tried the smart magnetic rig by flash power tools? Does great for what you are trying to prevent.

Hello, I do not think this is possible with the Bone tool. The only way to keep sharp angled joints on limbs is by converting them into Paint Brushes. If you'd like to try this method here's how to do it:

Create a drawing on stage, make sure it's a raw shape (no grouped objects or symbols), select it, right-click and choose Create Paint Brush, click Add, switch to the line tool (N) and draw with the newly created brush.

You can bend the brush using the selection tool (V). To make a sharp angle hold Alt while click and dragging with it.

To tween the brush use a shape tween instead of a motion tween.

    (Video demostration below).

Thanks ! that's a clever idea! I've never done this before but I'll take a look. Thanks also for the video.

In another comment I explain getting there with the Bone tool, but with limitations...

It sounds like you want to have two separate pieces, like a toy doll with hinged joints. Set up each piece with the pivot at the place where you need them to bend. Does that make sense?

it works well if I put one of the pivots exactly in the corner, but then you don't have to turn too much or turn the other way... So it's not ideal...
