Question

When will the developers ever acknowledge our complaints and how bad this software is?!?

I've taken like a half a year break (not including another half a year break before I made a little animated short) solely because I couldn't mentally tolerate this horrible godforsaken program that has ruined countless animation projects. I don't think I have ever once EVER had a session of animating without running into any heavy bugs and losing my mind. Anyways, I just mustered a tiny amount of courage to try and come back to animating today, and I made a decent amount of progress. Then I decided to take a nap because I was tired, and just came back to my project a few minutes ago. Boom. Much of my progress is just missing. (I made 5 different saves on this one animation because I have lost an entire week's worth of animation within 30 minutes before). This makes no sense, because as I played through the parts I worked on, some of it was still saved and there, but other's were just completely gone, like some animation I did inside a symbol is missing but not in the main timeline. I looked through all 5 of my saved files and each were missing the same thing, and somehow the 1st one didnt even save anything I worked on. Just wow.

This little issue just made me lose that little bit of courage to animate that i spent the whole year mustering up. I've lost all hope in this program and the developers. This is a serious issue that never seems to get the attention of the developers. The glitching with corrupting files and not saving is one thing, but lagging nonstop with every single action I make is just unbearable. I have a PC with more than enough power to run adobe just fine, but it lags, freezes, and sometimes crashes when a single stroke is made or if I were to move a keyframe. I have lost so much progress, so many animations, so much motivation, and most of my sanity using this disgrace all because of glitches. I have a youtube channel to run and I can't even fulfill the one dream I had to entertain people online because of this. You guys should be ASHAMED of this dissapointing program. i see updates here and there, but the program just gets severely worse. Years of complaints from hundreds maybe thousands of people about the same bugs have just been ignored. We need to somehow get this issue noticed for real, because to me it seems they just don't care that they will be losing more and more customers for this program if the bugs are never fixed. I know I could switch to something like ToonBoom... but man I'm not sure, and I can't do that right now. I have this animation with months of progress still waiting to be finished, and it was supposed to be finished over a year ago for my channel; and I also don't want to switch off of the only animation software I've really known and grown to use. I don't know if any of the other recommended softwares have the cool things adobe animate has, and idk how they compete in terms of quality. Please, can these issues that have gone on for years get the recognition it NEEDS?

Sincerely,

I am with @n. tilcheff : Animate is a dud for any serious animation project. Switching to other alternatives may have its own challenges, but it will save your sanity and your projects.

Change can be hard (I know: I loved Flash when I still used it in Macromedia times), but is part of growth! The tool doesn't make the animator and artist. If your hammer is broken, you get a new hammer that works.

Are you using new features like parenting and asset warps? Those can be unstable and sometimes work is not retained when using them upon saving.

I still use Flash, because I consider Animate to be unfit for professional use, regardless of the few nice additions.

It is very painful to witness this slow-motion car crash and what is being done to the glorious legacy of Flash.
