Question

Latest update (4/14) crashing every few minutes

Anyone else having issues with today's so-called "update?" Used the app this morning for several hours. No problem. As soon as Adobe forced this new rev I can't keep the app working for more than a couple of minutes before it crashes. Usually without saving changes.

 

This (or similar issues) seems to happen every single time Audition is "updated." Of course, there's no support to speak of. How much am I paying for this?

 

Unbelievable.

I haven't yet downloaded today's version, so I don't yet know how it behaves. But if it really is crashing, then the log files will say why (or give some sort of a clue, anyway). You can locate them either from the help menu or by folloeing the instructions on this page - Audition crashed - now what? It might also be worth copy and pasting them into this thread - it might be something obvious...

Thank you for your reply Steve. I can barely keep the app open long enough to grab the log files but here is the latest. It's been crashing and freezing repeatedly for 2 hours since the update. There are many files but this is the latest:

Two things: I've tried it here now and it's working a lot better than the previous release did. The second, and probably more important thing for you is that from the log, if I've got this right, it looks as though Audition's trying to reach the authentication server and some part of the process is failing. One common reason for this to happen is that the CC app itself needs updating. If this is the case then the failure to run makes some sense. So initially, I'd try updating the CC app (Help>Check for updates). Also it looks as though it might be trying to authenticate a different user, possibly - hard to say for sure. Are you trying to use it as an Administrator on the machine? Certainly on PCs it doesn't like running at all if you don't have Administrator privileges.

 

The thing is, this is an installation issue and you are absolutely entitled to on-line help to fix it - if it doesn't turn out to be anything simple, that is.
