No input in Audition

I have huge problems getting AA CC 2019 to pick up sound on my 2016 Macbook Pro.

I have tried both my Røde NT USB mic and my SoundBlaster E5 USB sound card.

And both work fine with everything else on my Mac. Garageband, Ableton Live - everything just works.

Except for Adobe Audtion...

All inputs are set up as required in Audition and System Preferences.

Both devices devices show up as they should.

But when I press record Audition picks up total silence.

As in NO SOUND AT ALL.

The waveform is completely empty.

It did use to work up until Mac OS Mojave came around.

So I thought maybe that was the problem and CC 2019 would fix it.

But no luck. Still total silence.

Any ideas?

    and one that solved the problem as well

    Would make sense for Adobe to make the apps prompt the user for this - like many others do.

    Yes it would but I suspect that Adobe didn't know that Apple were going to do this with their latest update. Most other audio software manufacturers that produce natively Mac OSX based apps would, I suspect, have prior knowledge. Because most Adobe software is cross platform it makes it rather difficult to have to specifically adjust one OS version of the software just because the OS supplier makes an unscheduled change in the way it's OS works.

    @ SteveG. However it would seem like a good idea to, at least, add the above link to Audition's FAQs for the unwary Mojave updater.
