Question

Accessing Lightroom files using Bridge

I am a novice user of Lightroom (v6.2) and have been syncing all of my photos (>85k) to the cloud using Adobe cloud storage. Someone suggested that using Bridge would allow me better workflow for deciding whether to edit files in Lightroom or Photoshop. But I am unable to figure out how to access my Lightroom cloud files from within Bridge. Is it possible? If not, should I just use Lightroom to organize my photos and just "Edit in Photoshop" when I want to do anything other than basic edits?

Thanks!

You can't actually use Bridge with your LR photos. You can use it with Lightroom Classic photos, but I don't want to confuse you. If you are using Lightroom, use Lightroom. Bridge is a file browser, as is Lightroom. Bridge has access to Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom has the same technology built in to edit. They are similar and can be used individually but not usually together.

You've got it. Your best workflow will be to use the" Edit in Photoshop" for the kinds of edits that cannot be done in LRD.

You will find that with the new Masking capabilities and the overall adjustments that you can make in LR, most of your adjustments are more than satisfactory without going into PS.

Enjoy and good luck!
