ACR 15.4.0.1508 Mouse Movement

Mouse stutters and lag badly when intially opening RAW files in this version of ACR. Just started in the past few days after updating. Severe effect on workflow. Issue does not happen if opening ACR from within PS (using the Filter>ACR menu)  to work on an already open document, only when I first open a RAW file. Same issue described by another user here:
