Add own Filters to Bridge Filter Panel

Hi,

I'm playing around with the CustomSortExtensionHandler.jsx example in Bridge and it looks like you can extend the filter panel of Bridge with own filters/parameters.

Unfortunately, the example only works on "Nodes" and not on plain folders and files. Thus, how can I extend the filter for plain files and its properties (e.g.: Year of Creation, First Letter of Filename ... just as some plain examples to illustrate my targets).

Or is this not possible at all?
