Adobe Bridge 2021

When I open Adobe Bridge 2021, I always get this message: We can’t verify your subscription status.

We can’t reach the Adobe servers. This may be because you’re not connected to the internet. Check your connection and try again below. If you’re still having issues, please see our connectivity troubleshooting guide.
 
When I receive this message I am always connected to the internet. I have a choice of signing out or trying again - which doesn't work and the troubleshooting guide doesn't list this problem. I do have an account with Adobe which I just signed into, so I can't figure out why my subscription status can't be verified. Any suggestions?
