How to STOP Bridge from spamming my SSD with all this useless Video files that i dont need?

Its annoying when i want to use Shortcut on my Desktop to Folder with photos but i have few Videos saved on my Desktop - then BANG Bridge just Cache 5 GB to C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files. After a few hours of jumping between folders i end up with 150gb less space.

At this moment i try to keep every Video in folders that i will NOT explore with Bridge but its annoying as hell.

I need to know how to DISABLE Video preview or cache at all - i still want to keep Thumbnails preview.

    Hi DenisDesign,

May I know which version of Bridge are you using? Did you try compacting the cache in Bridge's preferences?

    Regards,

    Sahil

    Hello,

I always try to keep Bridge up to date. For now i have 2017 Release - 7.0.0.93 x64

Compacting don't do anything with Media Cache file, only Thumbnails Cache from

    C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC 2017\Cache

I tried every single option inside Bridge :/

    Irritating and completely unnecessary.

Files opened in other company's software are purposefully being stored in Adobe Media Cache databases. Files that have never been touched by Adobe software, never previewed, indexed or even navigated too from within Adobe software and still, Adobe is logging and storing this in proprietary databases. Open something in other software, VLC or something. You'll see that file will now be listed, stored and part of Adobe's Media Cache folder, buried in obscure, proprietary databases like 483012da-d2af-d2c0-dcd4-0cb5000000696780 or similar.

A 700MB conformed audio file was created for just one file that never even touched Abode software. Premier, Encore, Audition or After Effects ARE NOT EVEN INSTALLED, they've never been installed and your creating GBs of files for them and worse still, you're doing this for files used with other software. It's almost hard to believe.

OS Common is one thing, but WTF are you doing Adobe? How much metrics do you need? Logging and caching other vendor's software usage has nothing to do with you. You have no need or business knowing what we work on in software that isn't yours. While we're at it, enough with the logging and tracking of everything we're doing on our computers. Keylogging now? Seriously? Nice, thanks Adobe. That's still really popular with stalkers and hackers too.
