Adobe Bridge Initializing Video Library, beach ball at startup

Adobe Bridge displays “Initializing Video Library” in the status bar at bottom upon startup. This persists for 10-30 minutes. During this time, any click on the interface (e.g. Preferences) causes a beach ball (Adobe Bridge stops responding) for 30 to 120 seconds.

I don’t use Adobe Bridge for video. Is there a way to completely disable the video library? (I’m not even sure what that is or why it takes up to a half hour to initialize, or what happens during initialization.)

Hi, @Fine Art P, have you tried going into the Windows menu and if “Libraries” is checked, please try unchecking it?

Please try that and let us know the results. We can try other approaches if that one does not solve the problem.

Oh, do you have a number of videos on your computer? Just curious about that.
