Adobe Bridge Labels Not Responding to External Hard Drive

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out why the labels in Adobe Bridge aren't working. I can't use the labels or ratings. I'm using an external hard drive connected via cable. Everytime I try the label menu name highlights and still does nothing. I've tried purging the cache, resetting the settings, and uninstalling.

I've downloaded the file to my computer and it labels files off my desktop, but not on my hard drive.

I'm all out of ideas.

If you have any solutions, I would be grateful. Thanks!

    Hello,

First thing, please help us help you: are you using a mac/pc? which OS version? Which version of Bridge?

Can you write/erase to the files in the disk from explorer/finder?

How is the hard drive connected? USB? Firewire? Lan? Thunderbolt?

Not an answer and don't see a resolution to this.  I keep having the same problem expecting a new version of Bridge to fix it.  But I'm using 2021 on a PC with Windows 19 and all the latest updates.  I can't color-label or  star media files such as audio files or some other images or .mov files on an external drive that has all my video production resources and royalty free media on it because my 2TB notebook drive needs the space.

The answer part is because the OP didn't give enough information for us to be able to help.

Not all media files can use labels or ratings. Do any files work? If so, what is the different between ones that work and ones that don't? Is your antivirus program interfering? Do files that don't work on the external drive work on the internal? Is the external a regular hard drive connected via USB or something else?
