Question

Adobe Bridge Performance issues/tuning

I am seeking ways to make Bridge function faster.

I have what I assume to be a large collection (450 images)

Whenever I do anything with multiple files (add keywords to a selection of 130 files, for example) it takes 4-5 minutes, during which thumbnails disappear, reappear, disappear, and reappear many times.

I am using Bridge ver 9.1.0.338

Mac Pro

6-Core Intel Xeon E5

  Processor Speed: 3.5 GHz

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

  L3 Cache: 12 MB

  Memory: 64 GB

1TB SSD

AMD FirePro D500 VRAM 3GB

Are there any Bridge features I can turn off the improve performance?

Do I need to upgrade my hardware or graphics card?

    Hi AK-ArtPhoto,

That shouldn't be happening, as Bridge 9.1 is performing slower than expected. Let us help make it right.

Damaged preferences or workspaces can cause unexpected behavior in Adobe Bridge. Purging the cache can fix display issues for thumbnail previews.

    • Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears.
    • Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Akash
