Adobe Bridge photo downloader does not recognise my Canon R7 camera

Adobe Bridge photo downloader does not recognise my Canon R7 camera. I have tried some simple tips from the internet but nothing works. I have tried downloading images via a card reader as well as direct from the camera - neither work. I have downloaded the latest Bridge software. I have also tried Adobe Bridge Beta. I have an Apple Imac. My OS is up to date - Tahoe 26.4.1

Any help and suggestions would be great !
