After update of photoshop 23.5.1 today opening raw files from bridge disabled

After todays update of photoshop to 23.5.1 the function "open in camera raw" of one or several files from bridge (context menu) is disabled - does not work any anymore with the message raw editing is not activated. 
According to forums this happened often in the past but the usual work arounds do not help (starting photoshop first and so on).
Going back to 23.5.0 did not help. Reinstalling camera raw did not help ... So is there a solution?

Opening raw files by "open" works (but with the nagging message "do you really want ...") - the message does not appear when opening several raw files with "open with camera raw" - so I prefer that. But this does not work any more ...
