Alternative to Code Replacements from PhotoMechanic on Bridge

Hi! I use PhotoMechanic to organize my sports photos and am used to using Code Replacements to label the players in photos. I would like to switch this all over to Bridge, but would need an alternative to code replacements for Bridge. This would include using a delimeter and then typing the number of a player and having it replace that with the player's name, number and year in the IPTC description. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this in Bridge?

Hi @maddie1039 and @stephenv70437356 sorry to necro this thread, but if you're still interested in code replacements, I've just published a script to do them! It's still in development so I'm happy to hear any suggestions.

You can find it on github and learn how it works from the wiki (see the sidebar).

It's 3 years too late but I hope this is what you were looking for 🙂

I'm not familiar with PhotoMechanic but you could write a script to accomplish what you want.

Is there a thread in particular I could look at to learn how to write scripts for Bridge?

Believe it or not, the reason I bought PhotoMechanic was precisely because Bridge couldn't do Code Replacements.  If you find a way to do it in Bridge, I'd be very interested to hear of it.
