Assigning Keywords to Images

Everytime I try to assign a keyword to an image in Bridge I get the error message "The file Photos Library.photoslibrary" cannot store XMP metadata. No changes will occur" in popup. What am I doing wrong and is there a problem with where my photo library is located. It downloads automatically via Wi-Fi from my iPhone. Please help I need to use this for an urgent project.

So can anyone point me to a resource where I can somehow download this Apple Photo Library so that I can edit within Bridge? Ive studied some tutorials that guide me on how to download onto my iMac but if I can view the images in the Bridge program surely they are already there?
