Question

auto rotate images in placeholders

There are times when I create my own special layout for image submittals. Similiar to a contact sheet.
I would like to have a Option to auto select all frame place holders and have them place content proportionately and to auto rotate the images to fit the frame.

If you place a portrait image in a frame thats wider then taller; the image will auto rotate to landscape mode with content proportional fit settings.

Right now the process is to
change that;
Place image,
Then select content,
Rotate image.
You need to do this for every frame individually.
Globaal setting or group setting would be fine by me. If someone how this can be done in Indesign I would like to hear from them
Maaybe one of those script writers could help.

Have you looked at the Contact Sheet for InDesign script that shipped with CS2? It does that, including the auto-rotation, from bridge.

Layout in InDesign presumably?

Is the auto-rotation based solely on whether or not the image and frame have the same orientation? Or are you concerned about the contents of the images all having the same orientation? The former is easy (enough); the latter is impossible.

Where does Bridge fit into this? You want to start with a selection of images in Bridge?
