auto-stacking thumbnails by name

I'm looking for a script that will recursively crawl through a folder and stack all images with the same name (minus extension,) so that any metadata that gets entered by a user will be applied to both raw and jpg files. Our photographers are in the habit of providing low res jpgs with the raw files. Then, our designers will rate and keyword the jpgs in Bridge. Trouble is, when the time comes to retreive the image, a keyword search only brings up the low res version when it should bring up both. I'm not sure the "Process Collections" script will help, because the low res versions are made much later than the photos were taken.
