Automatic linking of keyword to specific pictures

I have a very large set of images that have previously been tagged with keywords in another programme. I managed to get the old metadatas in a text file that I cleaned.

These keywords are now listed in an Excel spreadsheet, with the file name as the first column and different information for each image (subjects, sources, author, country...). So far I have managed to import the list of keywords, but I have not figured out how to automatically assign them to the different images.

Is this possible?
