Batch file renaming in bridge is losing file extensions

Hi, I have been using Bridge to rename batches of my files for some time.

I have using it ffor files of varioious formats ,psd .nef .jpg

The last 3 times I have attmepted to use things are going wrong....

Format I use is:

Location_

Date (ddMMYY_

Sequential number_

info

.

Notice the file extension is now missing

Then Bridge will tell me I have given my file a name that is not allowed

beacuse it has now renamed the image wiht a dot (point) in front of hte file name:

When I go back into batch rename the dot has been inserted before the location info at the start of my file as well as losing the file extension.

Any suggestions as to why?

You have incorrectly selected "New Extension" as the first entry when you should have used "Text". File Extension's should always come last and they must be for a valid filetype. Bridge has safeguards with filename extensions, however in this case you have broken those safeguards.

No worries, sometimes the "obvious" is not so to tired eyes and one needs a fresh set of eyes!

Once this is working, save it as a preset so that you don't make the same mistake again.
