Batch Rename changed file types

Question

Hi! I had batch renamed a handful of images with text and sequence number, but it appears that the file type has changed to the sequence number ? The file types have become 01, 02, 03, etc. I have no idea what has happened but they are for an upcoming assignment so I would appreciate any insight at all 😞

Without seeing your original Batch Rename settings it's hard to comment. Adobe have made it quite hard to accidentally change the file type extension in regular use of Batch Rename.

Did you tick/check the "Preserve original filename in metadata" option when Batch Renaming? If so, you can restore the original filename and extension... Or just add the correct extension back in again to the required file type using Batch Rename, I'm guessing that this was a raw camera file?
