Batch Rename Issue

Batch Rename is not working properly. I organize my files by name (which are sequential in the original image number and date/time the images were taken/created), but when using batch rename, the tool selects random images and renames them in a random order. Sometimes it doesn't select files even though I have selected all the images in the folder. I've reset my preferences, re-installed Bridge, searched forums, but haven't found a solution.

Below is a screenshot of my settings. I've also included an example of the random ordering/incorrect renaming. This tool should have renamed images directly following 8:23pm, but jumped to images taken at 8:43pm.

Any ideas are appreciated.
