Batch rename only works once

I've been trying to batch rename a bunch of files, but Bridge only lets me batch rename once. The second, third, fourth time I try, it gets stuck at 0% and never moves. If I quit and reset the preferences and clear the cache, it will work once again, but this is not a sustainable way to work. Anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this and what might fix it?

I'm on a mac and have updated to the latest version. I also tried going back to Bridge 2024 and ran into the same issue. I was chatting with support for an hour and a half before we got disconnected and I was unable to reestablish connection.
