Hi Everybody.

Have spent a full week reviewing every picture on one of my External Hard Drives in Bridge 2020 v10.0.4.157 to reorganise the directories and remove duplicates . . . . . . . . then the DISASTER . . . . . . "compacting the Cache" in Bridge 2020 appears to have totally destroyed my filing structure on the entire hard disk and removed my conventional alpha-numeric file descriptions and replaced them with an Adobe Bridge type number, e.g. "f365063138.cr2". I CAN NOT NOW SEARCH FOR A FILE BY SIMPLE NAME ! ! ! ! !

Any Suggestions Please - - - - - especially from the Adobe Geeks who made the program changes.

Hi Everybody.

EUREKA - - - - - Encountered more File Renaming problems in Bridge 2020 related to the ".cr2" and ".tif" file extensions yesterday but I seem to have stumbled on a solution. It appears that my photo files can be renamed and sorted as I want, without destruction by Adobe Bridge . . . . . . . . as long as the file extensions ".CR2" and ".TIF" are used with Capital letters ? ? ?

Hello Adobe and anybody else following this thread.

Bridge 2020 totally destroyed the existing File Names on a Hard Disk and created new file names independently, e.g. GL7C36~1.CR2 and GL7C36~1.TIF. I was resigned to having to rename the files, one at a time, in Adobe Bridge and began the task this morning. I haven't yet tried to use these picture files for picture-purposes but I don't have a comfortable feeling about I am going to find.

DISASTER AGAIN but I guess it was what I was expecting . . . . . . . . I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RENAME MY PICTURE FILES ! ! ! ! !

It's about time Adobe joined this conversation and offered some support and solutions . . . . . . . over to You ADOBE
