Wondering if whoever develops these updates actually use the app???

Only been a few days but this is what i have found so far ...

Issue 1:

since the update when using the "folder" the heiracrchy starts at "Computer" now and you cant collapse it prior to "desktop".

Issue 2:

when using the "find" feature the "criteria" filed doesnt automatically highlight so you can type, you have to select your last search to enter the text

Issue 3:

I cant always drag a folder in the "folders" heiracrchy to move them.

Hi @amytarus,

It's somewhat difficult to help someone when there is no ideal suggestion to give. I am on a Mac, and when 2023 was released, I was on an old iMac using OS 12. I'm now on a Mac Studio and am using OS 13. I never had (most) of the issues you are having.

In your first set of issues, in #1, I do see Desktop at the top of my Folder hierarchy; see here. But also note the item at the bottom of the dropdown menu: Remove from Favorites. I never thought about this before, but do you need to add Desktop to the Favorites Panel?

#2: Agree, this is dumb

#3: I'm not having any issues in the Folder Panel

#4: I suspect this is a redraw issue. It might be fixable, but not sure how high in the priority needs this exists right now. This is not the best location for reporting these issues; I suggest you report this (and #2)  here: https://adobebridge.uservoice.com/

#5: No, I do not get the pinwheel of death when renaming files.

Some things to try: See if things are working better in one folder over another. If this is so, try to Purge the cache to the folder giving you issues (Tools (menu) -> Cache -> Purge Cache for (xxx) folder.

Rebuild Bridge's Preferences:

Quit Bridge (if running). Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."

Also, how many images do you have in any given folder? Bridge was just not designed to work with folders with thousands of images. It can do it, but it struggles. If you can create subfolders to help lower the quantity, that might help.

Let's see if any of the items I suggest work. If not, I'll try and come up with some other suggestions. I am enjoying 2023, I see little reason why you cannot as well (if we can squash some of these issues).

Nevermind, just saw the Beta for 13.0.4 hopefully that will solve the issues.

More issues, I cannot rename a file or create a new one and name it without getting the pinwheel and freezes on shutdown ... ended up reverting to Bridge 2022.
