This may sound weird, but I consider that a very good thing.

I believe having this option is one of the worst things adobe ever added to any program. Seriously.

After taking a photo, the ONLY place that photo resides is on your camera's card. After you ingest the images into your computer, they reside in two places: the computer and the card. If either were to break down, there's always the other copy.

I NEVER erase the images on my camera card until I've got the images on my computer and on a separate backup hard drive. (I also use a cloud service as a third location.)

When asked, I ALWAYS suggest that people (1) do not use that option in the Photo Downloader, (2) reformat the card in the camera, and never reformat a card in the computer.

I'm off my soapbox; you can do what works for you.

Thanks for your input @gary_sc .  Guess we all have different processes in our workflows.   Where I copy my photo's to also shadow copies to another drive simultaniously.  Thus the option works for me to have a fresh card for shooting.

Just looking for adobe to fix this as it worked before with SD Cards on my older camera.

These forums are for 1st line support by non-Adobe employees. Adobe folks DO look in here but it's not the best way to communicate with them. A better approach is to ask for support here:

https://adobebridge.uservoice.com/

This is best for feature requests and things that are not working but should.

Otherwise, mostly, I agree with you, @williamvavrek. But I've followed these forums for many years (8), and every once in a while, something goes wrong, and the images did not successfully transfer to the computer(s) (yes, it has happened), and the images on the card were deleted, they can't find their images, now what do they do?

At that point, the only option I'm aware of is to get camera card image recovery software and wish them luck.

Is it rare? Yes. Has it happened? Yes, I do not keep records, but I'd say 4-5 times a year I read reports of it happening. I've no idea how often this occures where it's not reported in these forums, but that's why I give the comments I made.
