Bridge 2023 Bugs / UX Issues

Hello,

Encountered some issues/bugs with the new version:

  • Pressing Enter or Command + ⬇ used to open the file. This was convenient and quick but it seems to have been removed in 2023.
  • File Associations not working properly. Opening JPGs and PNGs should open by default in Photoshop but they open in Preview instead even with the file association defaulted to Photoshop.
  • When opening a new window it used to open up to the same location. This is no longer available with the new tab experience. Don't see a setting to re-enable this behavior. It would have been great if the option to open a new window would not have been removed.
  • Tab key used to hide all side panels. This shortcut has also been removed in favor of expanding whatever panel is in focus with a new full-screen shortcut.

Platform: MacOS Monterey 12.4

Hi,

Many of the issues reported in the thread are fixed in the latest patch release #13.0.1.583. Please install and confirm if that fixes the issue.
You can refer to the issues fixed in the patch at the following link https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/fixed-issues.html

Thanks,

Hi JGCreate2010,

To help you with #1, on the far side of the listed Workspaces, you'll see the double "greater than", please click on that. First off, do you see your Workspace there?

Notice the Edit Workspace on the bottom, if you click on that you get this:

As you can see here, you can change the order as well as prominently hide any of the Workspaces in the list.

As far as the other two items, it seems that they are on "hold" until the fix is in. Hopefully, that will be soon.

Thanks. If and when I update to 13.0 in the future, I will keep that in mind.

As I said, AdobeCare advised me that 13.0 has some known bugs and suggested I rollback to the previous version which I have done and is working fine.

First suggestion.  Update to MacOS Monterey 12.6.

The problems I have with Bridge 2023 are:

1. I lost the workplace I had set up in the older version and can't access it. When I edit the workplace to my needs and save it, I can't switch from "essential" to my workspace.

2. The search function is buggy. I use the toolbar to see what is in a folder but when I select a subfolder, Bridge 2023 quits "unexpectedly" and the crash windows come up for me to report the crash to Adobe and to Apple.

On top of that, it won't allow me to even search a folder for sub-folders without crashing half the time.

3. I contacted @adobecare on twitter and explained the problem. They told me this is a known bug with Bridge 2023 and suggested I rollback to the previous version.
