There is a checkbox in the Photo Downloader that does that but it should not exist and apparently was checked.

In the future, be sure to verify that that option is unchecked. It "should" be sticky.

Thanks a lot for your reply, which solved a puzzle. I almost never use Photo Downloader, just mark out the frames that I want to keep and drag them over in whatever catalogue I choose. Before the latest update this created no problem. However, now it does. Without being asked the coiped frames are deleted. But there is a solution to this. If I use Photo Downloader and keeps the checkbox for deleting originals from memory card unchecked, the originals will not be deleted from memory card. Why Adobe had to change this is beyond me, but I'm very happy to have solved this puzzle. I never deletes photos / files from memory card. I only format the cards when I have copied over whatever I need to copy. This to avoid any complications. This time though, thanks to the unknown changes in update of Bridge, I ran in to serious problems which ultimately mede me loose a batch of photograhs I took for a customer.

Wow, very sorry to hear that. FWIW, there are image recovery applications out there that should be able to recover the images. When that box is checked, it deletes the images BUT DOES NOT REFORMAT the card.

As long as you've not reformatted the card, they still should be there.

(And I really really wish Adobe would remove that option from PD. It really really is dangerous as you have testified.
